Are American Girl Dolls worth it?

im 14, ill 15 in few months, , lately ive been remembering american girl dolls. had samantha , kirsten ans think might have mad nellie when 9 or 10. sold them, , regret doing so. looking @ getting marie grace, , passing onto kids, there kids, ect. know im way old play dolls, , dont plan to, maybe style hair. worthth 80 bucks???? if didnt buy one, think spend on clothes myself.... whats opinion?
