Why is there always an American on UK shows?

strange should ask, there seem more british actors in hollywood americans.

, on british shows see here in states there's never american on them, british actor playing american (poorly might add), never american. beginning wonder why there's never american on british television when there many brits on american television.

just wondered why compulsory have american in shows i'm celeb, dancing on ice, etc. not allowed make these programmes without american in them?
