totally agree above post! max brenners delicious. known chocolates serve savory main courses well. call in advance , make reservation. lines can insanely long on weekends , evenings.

olive garden times square. 3 floors. tons of things around there. convenience of location may more attractive actual quality of food. can eat olive garden anywhere. if want make experience unique, pick thousands of restaurants/fun places @: http://www.zagat.com/newyork

getting own private room might out of picture. restaurants don't have them , if do, they're more expensive.

desserts: mollys cupcake (west village), georgetown cupcakes (soho), big gay ice cream/butterlane cupcakes (east village). laduree (midtown), mille feuille (by washington square park). ton of small cafe restaurants along 8th avenue between 20-36th streets.
