Why is my phone battery so bad? Do I need to buy a new one?


have had samsung galaxy s2 4 months , not had problems. second hand in condition , has worked fine until now. battery won't last more 3 hours. today have pulled phone off charge, gone work. have accepted 1 phone call lasted no longer minute , watched trailer film on phone. dead.
don't have of bluetooth, or wifi or gps or anything. there no programs running in background. display on lowest setting , yet runs out of battery quick?

need new battery, solve problem? phone rather hot in pocket today work isn't hot environment.
