carol ann duffy saying people need believe. people need believe in something, anything.

when people lose faith (as educated people have these days), find religious experience in things meaningless: tree in leaf, sound of distant railway train, words of shipping forecast.

isn't true: poetry doesn't need true.

poetry needs true. carol ann duffy never writes that.
