Philosophy: Order of study?


ardent auto-didactic, , such have approached many things in known world confidence , straightforwardness... philosophy on other hand have avoided, world of thought not structured; characteristic many auto-didactic myself have found unappealing. goal read on subject humanly possible, efficiently possible.

while aware philosophy multifaceted tree of knowledge, not steered toward particular branch via self-interest, , have found difficult determine best starting point 1 such myself. have completed history of western philosophy, hoping more rounded approach selecting philosopher sounds interesting , starting there.

studying philosophy chronologically seems logical enough, have gathered close impossible follow modern philosophers little knowledge of classics/must-reads. suggestions? in situation, short of attending class?
