Why did stock prices drop after 9/11?


investors tend panic , pull money out of market when don't feel it's safe.

after 9/11, didn't know going happen. foreign bank accounts frozen? shipping regulations make shipping more expensive? there more terrorist attacks? clients affected disappearance of financial businesses headquartered in wtc , utterly destroyed? go war? taxes raised go war?

amidst uncertainty, lot of them concluded best thing sell off stocks , bonds , hold on liquid currency until better sense of going on.

selling caused prices sharply drop. expected, recovered.

i realize huge event throughout world, don't quite understand how had such huge affect on stock market, airline stocks. how terrorist attacks effect economy?
