Why is Upstate New York so HORRIFIC?


know every place has it's problems upstate hell.

once past "natural beauty/landscape", awful. it's pennsylvania colder, worse economy , more run-down/impoverished , of doesn't have charm similar new england has nothing going it.

i'm located downstate , major problem have here [compared rest of country] cost of living. other that, it's perfect. i'm bringing subject since i'm suburban high school grad wants leave parents , of better suny schools upstate (stony brook exception close move away) , i'm not commuting city.
