"Service engine soon" light comes on/off - 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix SE?


hello all,

drive 2000 pontiac grand prix se gm 3800 series ii (3.8l) v6 engine. car has 122,500 miles , runs well. month or 2 ago replaced lower/upper intake manifold gaskets, coolant elbow, thermostat, , coolant temperature sensor.

noticed other day during near-100 total mile trip on way towards town, ride's service engine light came on while out on highway approaching stop, going 45-50mph when came on.

in slight panic, called nearest advanced auto store, , let them know coming , needed them check/run diagnostics see if codes thrown. store 1 of store assistants runs diagnostics , these codes:

"bank 1 & 2 oxygen sensor"

"throttle position sensor"

after got these codes happy hear wasn't serious, , hence being low on cash unfortunately had no choice drive home ses light still on unable buy parts lol. head home (about 9 miles later,) light came off...what heck?

normal light come on/off when car needs maintenance, or being stubborn? if turns out light comes on again think need o2 , tp sensors replaced?

perhaps stupid question - i'll let guests lol...
