How do i switch a ball python from live feeders to frozen/thawed?


getting rescued ball python year , half old here in next week or two. have proper enclosure set , everything. asking rescue feeding him weekly , said eating live mouse hoppers...well on question said shouldn't eating live (which knew due danger , injuries inflict on ball python) should feeding him rat pups instead....how transition him rats , how smoothly , transition him eating frozen/thawed or prekilled mice/rats? humane way pre kill mice if thats way decide go want make sure snake eat ever give him....and mind has been eating live prey whole life
