Child who bites her nails?

have 9 year old daughter bites nails. starting mis-shape fingers , can damage teeth. started nervous habit when seeing father ( hitting little sister , being nasty them - no longer sees them court case over). however, habit entrenched. have tried bitter tasting nail polish flavoured food, struggled eat lunch @ school, go hungry, lose concentration , trouble teacher. in australia - lunch box on lap , eaten hands. give gloves eat with!

research came number of suggestions -

- false nails little while give natural nails time grow. keep false nails short , natural in colour. success stories suggestions on type of nails? know need careful them , can weaken nails need chance grow!

- select 1 nail not allow chew, let grow, reward her, select nail , gradually include of nails. maybe put nasty nail polish on 1 nail. keep finger away food.

take daily photograph show progress , reward in way.
